Romneya produce the largest flowers of any members of the poppy family and are the pride of my summer garden, Notable for their large white flowers with intense yellow centres, their tall blooms are outlined against the summer sky and the wind flutters their papery flowers. This poppy is native to southern California, where it grows in dry canyons in chaparral and coastal sage scrub plant communities, sometimes in areas recently burned.
